If you read any wine making the book or website you will find a section on winemaking equipment that you need. In this article I reduced up to what I consider the five essential elements in equipment to make wine. These are the surely stuff that you'll need to help you make the wine is proud to serve to your friends.
All these can be found at high street wine manufacture/beer merchants or online.
1) A standard bucket. Any old bucket will not make nowadays, go for the best and last long. I have a five gallon container with a lid of adherents who does the job for almost anything I want. Size of beer, wine, etc is just right. Even with a small amount (a gallon) will do the job. You must make sure it is clean.
2) So, speaking of cleaning, this is my second. Sterilising equipment any (and all) is essential. Bacterial infection or some yeasts can ruin an entire batch. I use a sterilizer chemical that when dissolved in water does the job very effectively.
3) a large funnel and some sort of straining the material (use muslin) is the next requirement. I think the bigger the better. Means you're less likely to relapse, particularly when the transfer of a large amount of liquid from the bucket in carboys.
4) that leads us naturally in carboys. For most of us making wine at home the gallon glass jar called a Carboy is the final fermentation vessel of choice. They are strong, easily sterilized and will last for years. Use a modern CAP that is easy to sterilize and add a clearing house to leave the carbon dioxide out and keep the bugs out.
Clear glass will in most cases, but for some dark wines like beets will need coloured glass or the light will change colour and taste.
5) at some point you will have to move the fermentation wine (called must) by a Carboy in another and so we come to my last of the five essential elements a siphon. A simple piece of plastic pipe will do the job, but it is better to have something on the order to stop the sediment to be sucked from the bottom. Add a tap, so you can activate or deactivate a workflow will be and are all set to go.
OK, so there are my five essential elements. With those you can make wine from almost any fruit or vegetables. To finish just bottles and corks to keep your finished product. Oh and willpower. The wine improves with age, so it's best left a bit.
There are some other things that you can use to refine the process, a hydrometer, for example, but this article is essential five elements in winemaking equipment. To find out some more you can find a book completely free making wine Wine making for beginners
