Discover the rich history of wine making House


If you're going to go into wine, you can learn about the history of wine making. Then, you will feel a part of this rich history as you make your wines. Wine has been made for many centuries and throughout the world. Also referenced in the Bible. So lets this story and see what it says about the vinification.

Wine has a story spreads through the centuries and is also involved in the history of civilization, agriculture, humanity and world cuisine. Tests have been found by archaeologists pointing to Iran and Georgia are the areas for the first happening in winemaking to 6000 5000 BC. There was also found evidence that insinuates that the screw may have been domesticated during the bronze age. This occurred in Egypt and summer and in the Near East on the third millennium BC.

There is evidence that wine production in Europe dating back 6,500 years ago. In these particular archaeological sites recorded incidence of grapes pressed for the world have been found. Then in Egypt, wine was part of the ceremonies. There is evidence of the wine stays in China, the second and first millennium BC.

Remember that the majority of this wine making was doing or making house wine for the real time. There were some commercial wine making going on, but the people of the time would make their own wine.

Many Western European wine producing regions began with the Phoenicians and then of course the plantations run by the Romans. The development of the press and other advances in winemaking are known to have happened during the days of the Roman Empire. During this period, different varieties of grapes were cultivated with improved techniques for growing too. Barrels were also introduced for shipping and storing wines.

Then in the middle ages in Europe, the Christian Church began to back the use of wine for communion in the Catholic mass. Other cultures such as Islam did not condone the use of wine. The Muslim chemists, among others, paved the way to distill wine for medicinal purposes that were in nature. Wine consumption has become very popular in the 15th century where it survived the phylloxera louse which caused a bit of havoc in 1870. All this has led to major grape growing areas throughout our modern world.

Today the Napa Valley in California is an area in the United States that it reveals a large amount of quality wine each year. Long have added their touch for this history of wine making. Sonoma is another region in California where it is a lot of vineyards and wineries.

So you see when you start the winery who are stepping into a lot of interesting history. You can add to this rich history of wine with your creations.
